Tallest & Heaviest Process Column
- 121.3m (height)
- 1808.6ton (weight)
Located at Steam Cracker Complex.
Made of carbon steel and equipped with 187 trays.
Its main function is to separate Propane and Propylene.

It is 3 metres taller than the Lighthouse of Alexandria, one of the Wonders of the World.
It is over 14 times heavier than an A350-900 Airbus.

Biggest Modularised Waste Heat Boiler
- 35m (length)
- 13.5m (width)
- 27m (height)
Located at Refinery Complex
Its main function is to crack hydrotreated atmospheric residue into more valuable products such as propane and Propylene, as the feed to the Steam Cracker facility.

It has the same length as a SAMBA yacht, and is up to 4 times of the yacht's height.

Biggest Crude Distillation Column
- 58.354m (height)
- 9.962m (diameter)
- 4,330m3 (volume capacity)
Located at Refinery Complex
Its main function is to separate various products from crude oil through a distillation process with each product condensed at different boiling combined with heat integration within the column to obtain the required specification of each product's cut point. Various products such as liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), naphtha, kerosene, Diesel and atmospheric residue are then sent to the downstream unit for further processing.

It is 3 metres taller than the Leaning Tower of Pisa, one of the Wonders of the World.

Biggest Crude Oil Heater
- 20.78m (length)
- 12.57m (width)
- 67m (height)
Located at Refinery Complex
To provide heat to crude oil as a process medium for the distillation process inside the distillation column through radiation from the floor burner. Secondary function is to recover heat at the convection section to convert low pressure steam to superheated steam as stripping steam to assist in the separation process in the distillation column.

It is 17 metres taller than The Great Pagoda of Kew Gardens, London.

Tallest Flare Stack supported by Derrick Structure
- 150m (height)
Located at Steam Cracker Complex
Its main function is to ensure safe disposal of flammable hydrocarbons via flaring during emergency release, as well as flaring of off-spec products during start up and normal operation.

It is 11 metres taller than The Great Pyramid of Giza, one of the Wonders of the World.

Biggest Crude Storage Tank
- 22m (height)
- 92m (diameter)
- 113,000m3 (volume)
Located at Refinery Complex
The crude tanks are designed to receive and store crude from Pengerang Terminal 2 Sdn Bhd (PT2SB) prior to feeding to Crude Distillation Unit (CDU).
In addition, the tanks also are designed to receive and store slop oil from refinery slop tanks prior to reprocessing in CDU.
The two (2) crude tanks are External Floating Roof Tank (EFRT) that are equipped with dewatering facility, side mixer and heating coil (for High Pour Point Crude storage). Each tank is designed with working capacity of 113,000 m3 which can last for 2.4 days crude feeding at 300kbpd CDU throughput.

It is over twice as wide as a 500kW wind turbine.

Biggest ‘Steam Turbine’ Charge Gas Compressor
- 24m (length)
- 5.1m (height)
- 6.9m (width)
Located at Steam Cracker Complex
Its main function is to compress the overhead vapors from the Quench Tower. It has 5 compression stages via 3-casing configuration (LP/MP/HP). The compressor is driven by an extraction-condensing steam turbine using high-high pressure (HHP) steam.

Its length is twice of a traditional London Double Decker bus.

Biggest ‘Steam Turbine’ Driven Compressor
- 21m (length)
- 5m(height)
- 7.5m (width)
Located at Steam Cracker Complex
Its main function is to provide all chilling requirements for the separation section of the Steam Cracker plant and is part of a closed-loop Enhanced Binary Refrigeration System. It has 4 compression stages via 2-casing configuration (LP/HP). The compressor is driven by a full condensing steam turbine using high-high pressure (HHP) steam.

It is 1.6 times the length of a badminton court.
